<u>ARCHETYPE </u>

Jung believes that an individual’s psyche is composed of three components, which are as follow:

  1. Ego
  2. Personal unconscious
  3. Collective unconscious

Ego, in archetypes, represents the conscious mind of an individual while personal unconscious represents memories including those which have been suppressed. Collective unconscious is a component which is unique. Jung believes that it is a part of a psyche which serves as form of psychological inheritance.

According to Jungian psychology, the archetype represents universal images and patterns which are part of an individual’s collective unconscious. An archetype is something which is common everywhere in the world.
