Hey there! I'm happy to help!

The time at Valley Forge was not pretty. It was extremely cold which made it very hard to function well. There was also a ton of disease spreading as well, so the correct answer.

So, after making camp at Valley Forge in Pennsylvania, Washington's troops were reduced in size after men died from disease and exposure to the harsh winter.

Have a wonderful day! :D

How did European contact impact indigenous peoples? (Select all that apply.) European goods were traded for native lands. Native
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

The best choices from the options, to be able to answer the question: How did European contact impact indigenous peoples, would be:

B: Native tribes became ill from diseases that were not present until the arrival of Europeans. This is correct as it was not until Europeans arrived in America that such diseases as smallpox, or chickenpox, made an appearance, decimating thousands of Native Americans all over the Americas. It is now known that the arrival of diseases brought by the European settlers was one of the biggest impacts that Europe had on America.

C: Early European settlers attempted to convert Native tribes to their religion. This is especially true for all those tribes who came into contact with the Spanish conquistadores. One of the reasons why the discovery of new lands was supported originally by the Spanish crown, was the desire for the extension of the Gospels. When Columbus found these new lands, and the "savages" in them, a whole movement of Christians, particularly Catholic orders, began to move into the Americas in order to bring the Gospel. Later, with the arrival of the English in America, although at first evangelization was not the main purpose, but rather to find a new place away from religious persecution, it later did become an issue, with Puritans attempting to "civilize" the Indians through religious knowledge. After them, many of the new protestant movements made it their goal to evangelize the savage Native people of the colonies.

None of the other choices is correct, as Europeans traded with Indians for goods, not lands, and since lands were sacred to Indian tribes, they would have never traded them. Also, crops like bananas, coffee, sugar cane and wheat, were brought by the Europeans into the Americas, not taken from the Americas by the Europeans.

What was different about the KKK in the 1920s as compared to the KKK right after the<br> Civil War?
Len [333]

Answer: The Ku Klux Klan, founded in the late 1860’s, experiences three major surges in popularity promoting ideals such as white supremacy, white nationalism, Nativism, anti-immigration, and anti-communism.

Explanation: The first era of Ku Klux Klan experienced a rise in popularity in the late 1800’s with the intent of overthrowing Republican state governments in the South and ensuring that newly-freed southern African Americans did not vote. In 1871 their membership was oppressed by federal law enforcement (1871 Ku Klux Klan Act signed by President Grant to combat the KKK and other white supremacy groups).

The second Ku Klux Klan group flourished nationwide in the 1920’s on the platform of pro-prohibition and anti-Catholicism and anti-Jewish feelings. They experience a diminished population in the late 1920’s (around the time of the Great Depression; a time of mass American economic hardship).

The modern-day third wave of the Ku Klux Klan came about in the late 1950’s opposing the civil rights movement. Current membership, as of 2016, amounts to an estimated 3,000-6,000 active members.

Give me 5 sentences of what you think is culture?
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer:

A country’s languages impact national identity and allow for effective communication. Dialects and accents can help identify various subcultures that exist within a country.

The way a country approaches their culture is often reflected in how they spend their collective time, money and energies and may be reflected in the legal system.

The etiquette and customs of a country, such as fashion, family life and business dealings can play a key role in its culture.

Nonverbal communication varies significantly among countries. The firm handshake expected in the United States can be viewed as aggressive in other countries.
