In cellular respiration metabolic reactions take place in the organism's cells that makes adenosine triphosphate, ATP, from the chemical energy in nutrients or oxygen with the release of waste products

Yeast which is a Eukaryotic organism produces an addition of or an extra 34 molecules of ATP per molecule of glucose, when placed in the presence or have access of glucose

A high proportion of the produced ATP are by aerobic respiration requiring oxygen

While yeast produces 2 ATP per molecule of glucose by glycolysis'

Therefore, more ATP is produced in the presence of sugar which is a disaccharide of glucose and fructose.
