Although these phrases do not tell the reader much specific information about the type of containment zone that Nancy is working in, they do provide information of the nature of the zone. The phrase "amplified unknown hot agent" indicates that Nancy is unsure about some aspects of what she is working with, and it may not be safe. The phrase "high-hazard work" tells the reader more directly that this work is indeed very dangerous.
