Answer: The explicit rule for the geometric sequence is:
an=15 (1/5)^(n-1), for n=1, 2, 3, 4, ...

Solution:
Sequence:
15, 3, 3/5, 3/25

a1=15
a2=3
a3=3/5
a4=3/25

a2/a1=3/15=(3/3)/(15/3)→a2/a1=1/5
a3/a2=(3/5)/3=(3/5)/(3/1)=(3/5)/(1/3)→a3/a2=1/5
a4/a3=(3/25)/(3/5)=(3/25)(5/3)=5/25=(5/5)/(25/5)→a4/a3=1/5

(an)/(an-1)=(1/5)

Solving for an:
an=(1/5) (an-1)

a1=15
n=2→a2=(1/5)(a2-1)=(1/5)(a1)=(1/5)(15)→a2=15 (1/5)
n=3→a3=(1/5)(a3-1)=(1/5)(a2)=(1/5)[(15) (1/5)]=15 (1/5)^(1+1)→
a3=15 (1/5)^2
n=4→a4=(1/5)(a4-1)=(1/5)(a3)=(1/5)[15 (1/5)^2]=15 (1/5)^(2+1)→
a4=15 (1/5)^3

a1=15→a1=15 (1/5)^0=15 (1/5)^(1-1)
a2=15 (1/5)→a2=15 (1/5)^1=15 (1/5)^(2-1)
a3=15 (1/5)^2=15 (1/5)^(3-1)
a4=15 (1/5)^3=15 (1/5)^(4-1)

Then:
an=15 (1/5)^(n-1), for n=1, 2, 3, 4, ...

If two angles are congruent, then they are vertical angles? True or False. If true explain your reasoning. If false, give an cou
Bond [772]
This statement is false as all vertical angles are considered congruent but not all congruent angles are considered vertical angles. Any obtuse or acute angle may be considered congruent. If the angle from point A to B is 110 and the angle between B to C is 110 as well then they are congruent

If LM = 16, MN = 13x, and LN = 19x + 10, what is MN?
Aliun [14]

Answer:

4.875

Step-by-step explanation:

LM = 16,

MN = 13x

LN = 19x + 10

Now look at the alphabets and imagine the line in your head. just take it as a straight line

L M N

|---------------|------------------|

Like this, so we can see that LM+MN = LN

Therefore

LM +MN = LN

16 + 3x = 19x + 10

3x - 19x = - 16 +10

-16x = - 6

16x = 6

8x = 3

x = 3/8

Now put this value of x into MN

MN =13x

= 13 (3/8)

=4.875

What is vaule of y when x=4'5
Degger [83]

Answer:

y = 2.096 or y = \frac{2\sqrt5+6}{5}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

y = \frac{4}{x} + \sqrt x + 0.2  - 5x

x = \frac{4}{5}

Required

Find y

y = \frac{4}{x} + \sqrt x + 0.2  - 5x

Substitute x = \frac{4}{5}

y = \frac{4}{4/5} + \sqrt{4/5} + 0.2 - 5 * 4/5

y = 5 + \sqrt{4/5} + 0.2 - 4

Collect like terms

y = \sqrt{4/5} + 5  + 0.2 - 4

y = \sqrt{\frac{4}{5}} + 1.2

Split the surd

y = \frac{\sqrt4}{\sqrt5}} + 1.2

y = \frac{2}{\sqrt5}} + 1.2

Rationalize

y = \frac{2\sqrt5}{\sqrt5*\sqrt5}} + 1.2

y = \frac{2\sqrt5}{5}} + 1.2

Take LCM and add

y = \frac{2\sqrt5+1.2*5}{5}}

y = \frac{2\sqrt5+6}{5}}

or solve as:

y = \frac{2*2.24+6}{5}}

y = \frac{10.48}{5}

y = 2.096
