You test 8 automobiles of the same make and model and find their mileage ratings to be 28, 28, 29, 30, 33, 34, 35, and 1,000,000

mpg, arranged in order from smallest to largest. if you use inferential statistics to predict what mileage consumers can expect when they buy this type of car, what value would you predict?

Obviously rejecting the 1,000,000 mpg , there are 7 data points.
<span>The average is </span>
<span>30 + (-2 - 2 - 1 + 0 + 3 + 4 + 5)/7 = 30 + (-5 + 12)/7 = 31 mpg; </span>
<span>the median is 30 mpg, because there are equal numbers of values above and below it (3 each).
</span><span>28, 28, 29, 30, 33, 34, 35 ... Add and divide by 7 ... 1,000,000 is ridiculous .. the outlier and leave it out</span>

stealth61 [152]

Answer:

<h3>4</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

- 1 | \frac{2}{3} - 4| \div \frac{5}{6} \\ - 1 | \frac{2}{3} - \frac{4 \times 3}{1 \times 3} | \div \frac{5}{6} \\ - 1 | \frac{2 - 12}{3} | \div \frac{5}{6} \\ - 1 | \frac{ - 10}{3} | \div \frac{5}{6} \\ \frac{10}{3} \div \frac{5}{6} \\ \frac{10}{3} \times \frac{6}{5} \\ \frac{2}{1} \times \frac{2}{1} = 4

In one school, a half of all students who like math like science as well. Also, in that school, a third of all students who like
Marizza181 [45]

Answer: 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

N is the total number of students

M is the number of students thta like math

S is the number of students that like science.

We know that half of the elements in M also are elements from S

And a third of the elements of S also are elements of M

And because those elements are common elements for both sets, we should have that:

M/2 = S/3

then we have that:

M = (2/3)*S

The ratio is 2/3

this means that the number of students that like math is 2/3 times the number of students that like science.
