Increased migration of people is also possible due to better means of transportation. This interconnectedness has also led to a more rapid spread of pandemics. Both of these factors affect the number of people that live in an area, and therefore, the impact that they have in the geography of the place.

The South did not like the coercive policy, diplomacy using threats, that the President had sent.  Alexander Stephen that Lincoln's provocative actions will not help to stop the war.
