Answer: B. by reminding them that king George refuses to respond to their request

Explanation:

In 1774, a fine was imposed on Boston's inhabitants after a huge amount of pounds of tea were sunk by the Boston Tea Party. The fine was imposed by the British parliament as a means of repayment for the lost products.

The excerpt motivate colonists to support the creation of the Declaration of Independence by reminding them that king George refuses to respond to their request.

It should be noted that due to the above reason regarding the taxation, there were many people who were in support of a boycott against the British Parliament. When the idea of Declaration of Independence was being presented, Thomas Paine reminded the state about Monarchy in the United Kingdom in his pamphlet called the Common Sense. He was annoyed that despite the injustice happening, the king didn't respond. This further motivated the colonists to seek independence.
