Write a detailed essay with evidence about how the leader or regime would go about changing life from a democratic free country
Fofino [41]

Dictatorship, form of government in which one person or a small group possesses absolute power without effective constitutional limitations. The term dictatorship comes from the Latin title dictator, which in the Roman Republic designated a temporary magistrate who was granted extraordinary powers in order to deal with state crises. Modern dictators, however, resemble ancient tyrants rather than ancient dictators. Ancient philosophers’ descriptions of the tyrannies of Greece and Sicily go far toward characterizing modern dictatorships. Dictators usually resort to force or fraud to gain despotic political power, which they maintain through the use of intimidation, terror, and the suppression of basic civil liberties. They may also employ techniques of mass propaganda in order to sustain their public support.

Why did some abolitionists and enslaved African Americans distrust the American Colonization Society? How did the goals of the A
Radda [10]

Some abolitionists and enslaved African Americans distrusted the American colonization society and their goals differed from that of the ACS.

Explanation:

Differences of opinion existed among the people of US regarding the grant of citizenship to former slaves. Some thought they would be better off in Africa which is their birthplace where they will be free from racial discrimination. But some believed that they should be allowed to stay back in the US as free citizens.

American Colonization Society was formed in 1817 to transport free blacks to Africa. A colony was formed in the west coast of Africa. This later became the nation Liberia. Anti-slavery advocates thought that this approach is not progressive and the intent of the move was the retention of slavery.

The ACS slowly declined faced by the oppositions after 1840.
