George Floyd's death has certainly sparked an uproar in this country. The murder itself was cruel and unsettling, but the notion that such a thing happens regularly and unjustly is enough to spike protest. With many Americans being unemployed (and consequently having much more time on their hands) they can look into murders such as these and they can join into protests. I don't think that it's any coincidence that this is all happening at the same time as the pandemic.
