The complete question is
In a cartoon, wile E. coyote was chasing the road runner. seeing no easy escape, road runner jumped off a cliff towering above the roaring river below. using her mathematical knowledge, monica modeled the fall as following quadratic function: h(t)=–16t²+32t+48

a. What is the maximum height the Road Runner reaches and when will it occur?
b. When would the Road Runner splash into the river?
c. At what height was the Road Runner when he jumped off the cliff?

using a graph tool
see the attached figure

the equation is a vertical parabola open down
the vertex is the point (1,64)-----> is a maximum

the answer part a) is
the maximum height the Road Runner reaches is 64 and occur for t=1

Part b) When would the Road Runner splash into the river?
Find the x-intercept
the Road Runner splash into the river at the point (3,0)
that means
for t=3
h(t)=0

the answer part b) is
t=3

Part c) At what height was the Road Runner when he jumped off the cliff?
Find the y-intercept

the y-intercept is the point (0,48)
that means
for t=0
h(t)=48

the answer part c) is 48

Given that f(x) = x2 – 3x – 28 and g(x) = x - 7, find
gregori [183]

Answer:

(f-g)(x)=x^2-4x-21

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the two functions:

f(x)=x^2-3x-28\text{ and } g(x)=x-7

And we want to find:

(f-g)(x)

This is equivalent to:

=f(x)-g(x)

Substitute:

=(x^2-3x-28)-(x-7)

Distribute:

=x^2-3x-28-x+7

Rearrange:

=(x^2)+(-3x-x)+(-28+7)

Hence:

(f-g)(x)=x^2-4x-21
