Committees are essential to the effective operation of legislative bodies. Committee membership enables members to develop specialized knowledge of the matters under their jurisdiction. As "little legislatures," committees monitor on-going governmental operations, identify issues suitable for legislative review, gather and evaluate information; and recommend courses of action to their parent body.

The Senate currently operates 24 of these fact-finding, consensus-building, policy-recommending panels. Although many are almost as old as the Senate itself, senators periodically update their jurisdictions and resources to meet the evolving demands of modern American life.

Write a short speech convincing William and Mary to accept the English Bill of Rights.
Arada [10]

Your Highness,

it is from deep respect for the crown and the old ways of our countries that I ask you only to hear my claims.

We are going through a new dawn of men. People want to guide their own fate in many ways now, and those desires cannot be fulfilled by the crown. Any crown. Only the people can guide the people to where they wish to go, even if that is not a good place to be.

Although the crown cannot provide the sense of power over our destinies that we all wish to have at some point during our lives, the people has deep respect for culture and traditions, and there is no kingdom without a King or a Queen.

So I humbly ask of thee to represent us, to hear the people and to be the voice of reason, the voice of men and the voice of women to other countries and to the parliament.

Be our King and our Queen, but not above the law. Be the greatest you can be by following the same rules that the other countrymen will follow, and I promise much more respect and admiration from all than you would ever have through the old ways.
