Congo experienced devastating events during the rule of King Leopold II. King Leopold lived with the purpose of making Africa modern and civilized and hence became the sole ruler of Congo.

Explanation:

After Leopold II took the responsibility to rule the entire Congo, the region faced devastating chain of events on a regular basis. His rule became an international scandal as more and more people heard about the way he ruled and did not support him. A large fraction of population was killed as punishments or the kind of harsh lifestyle that came with his rule. Even though he died a year after he was forced to give up his rule, a huge amount of loss was estimated in terms of land. the heritage of the region was also lost. The death toll estimated was also alarming. Extraction of natural resources was carried out from Congo to Belgium. A new nation was being created but abundant hardship.

Leopold was born in the year 1853. His father was Leopold I, a reigning Belgian monarch and his mother was the daughter of King Louis Philippe, Louise. He became the Duke of Brabant at the age of 9 as his elder brother and the heir to the throne had died a year before Leopold was born. He also became the sun-lieutenant in the army. By the time of his accession in 1865, he was lieutenant-general. Before that, he became a member of Belgium Senate in the year 1885. Later on in his life, Leopold went on to become the sole founder of Congo Free State.

The Civil Rights Cases decided that:
expeople1 [14]

The correct answer is A.

Brown V. Board of Education was a landmark decision enacted by the US Supreme Court in 1954, that abolished segregation in public schools and understood that the 'separate but equal' principle that had governed such procedures was violating the Equal Protection Clause and therefore, unconstitutional. This clause was introduced by the 14th amendtment to the US Constitution during the Reconstruction Era, aiming to guarantee equality of rights to all US citizens.

This decision (in 195), overturned the former Plessy v. Ferguson decision from 1896, that had understood that the 'separate but equal' principle did not violate the Equal Protection clause and, therefore, it enabled segregation because it stated that Congress did not have power to ban it when public segregated facilities were comparable in quality.
