Doctor Faustus, by Christopher Marlowe, is a tragedy written at Elizabethan times and it was performed for the first time in 1604.

As regards literary forms, it is a MORALITY PLAY since the main character, Dr. Faustus, is prompt to corruption. However, at the end of the play and knowing that he is going to die, he prays for redemption.
