Answer:

Embodying integrity, dignity, and humility contributes to being a better citizen and a good person.

Explanation:

A citizen is an inhabitant or a resident of a specific nation or country. It merely means an actual figure with a face living in a country. As a citizen, you have both legal and political rights of the nation where you are a part of. However, everyone should aspire to become a better citizen. Solely existing lacks depth, you need to find the essence of your existence.Being a better citizen entails living with integrity, losing with dignity, and winning with humility:

Living with integrity means that there is a sense of completeness in your being. Integrity embraces positive traits, including honesty, fairness, and justice. If you are living with all of these characteristics, you can say that you're living a life of high quality.

Dignity suggests behaving esteemed and honored. If you lose with dignity, you're saying that you value what happened, if it is a competition or a contest. But at the same time, you gave respect to your competitors or adversaries.

To win with humility means that you are proud of what you accomplished, but you are not boastful of what you achieved. Both deal with pride. The only difference is the amount of pride conveyed. The former says enough, while the latter says too much. And too much of everything is terrible. If you embody all these traits and convey them to everyone you meet, a world ca be a better place. And this is how you perform your duties as a better citizen of the society.

Which statement best explains the situational irony that occurs in the passage?
statuscvo [17]

Answer:

The aunt tells a story with a moral, but the children ignore the lesson.

Explanation:

Situational irony is a literary technique that is used when an unexpected outcome occurs in a particular case/event. This means that a normal reaction to an action does not happen, rather the opposite result occurs. This is exemplified in the story above. After the aunt tells a story with rich moral lessons, it was expected that the children would pick the main points. However, this did not happen as the children were disappointed in the story and did not grab any lessons.

In at least 150 words, discuss the story of Orestes and Agamemnon. Explain the relevance of their story to that of Telemachus an
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

See below

Explanation:

Agamemnon was the leader the Greek Army during the Trojan war. When he returned home, he was murdered by his wife, Clytemnestra along with her lover. Agamemnon's son, Orestes' cannot stop the killing, but vows revenge, even though it means that he will have to kill his own mother. He eventually is able to avenge his father's killing by killing the murderers. Even though he has killed his mother, this action is considered just, so Orestes' doesn't feel any guilt over the situation. There are many similarities between that father/son duo and the Telemachus/Odysseus duo. Odysseus also fought in Greek Army against the Trojans. He has yet to return and it is questionable if he is even still alive. The suitors want to cash in on the opportunity that Odysseus' absence presents. They take over the palace and commit acts that dishonor Odysseus and his wife. Telemachus is asked to avenge the dishonoring of his father by killing the suitors. Athena assists him by telling him this story to encourage him.
