In spite of having witnessed many tragedies as a journalist, this one was special. When she arrived on the second day of flooding, there were masses of people still trapped in their homes. She saw others asking to be rescued from the second floor of their houses, a man holding to a lamppost with only his head out of the water and among many other things she was shocked by a woman’s body floating and military vehicles passing her by. The rescue teams were overwhelmed trying to rescue the large number of people that suffered the consequences of Hurricane Katrina.
