The opening scenes of Act 5 foreshadow about the resolution of “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar” that:

C. Octavius and Mark Antony's army and Brutus and Cassius' army will go to war; because Brutus and Cassius gave farewell speeches, they will die during the battle.

After two years of the death of Julius Caesar, Mark Anthony, Lepidus and Octavius formed the second Triumvirate with their union. They planned and recruited an army which would help and assist them to take on the army of Brutus and Cassius'.

Why are epic similes sometimes called Homeric similes?
kherson [118]

Answer:

The Greek poet Homer used them in two of his epic poems, "Iliad" and "The Odyssey."

iliad = ilium = troy = present day turkey.

iliad is the Helen of Troy story

Sparta's Queen Helen ran off with Troy's Prince Paris.

Helen's husband Menelaus & brother Agamemnon, King of Mycenae fought Troy

Agamemnon was joined by the Greek heroes Achilles,

Odysseus

, Nestor and Ajax & 1000's of ships from the Greek world

Achilles killed Troy's King Priam's son & Prince Paris' older brother Hector

Achilles' wanted revenge against Hector for killing his dear friend Patroclus.

Paris later killed Achilles by shooting him in the heel (his only weak spot) with an arrow

Menelaus & brother Agamemnon won by using a large wooden Tro-jan horse to sneak inside the gates of Troy

The

Odyssey

is the story of

Odysseus

taking 10 years to take an often-interrupted journey home back to Ithaca, later along with his son Telemachus to rescue his wife, Penelope, from men who wanted to marry her

kifflom [539]

Hello! :)

I’m afraid I can’t really help you with that as you have to use your own wording and knowledge to write a letter to the editor. But here are tips and basics that might get you started and help when writing your letter:

- Basics

• A Letter to the Editor may be written to the editor of a newspaper or a magazine. It is written to highlight a social issue or problem. It can also be written in order to get it published in the said medium. As it is a formal letter, the format has to be followed strictly.

- Tips

• Keep your letter under 300 words. Editors have limited space for printing letters, and some papers have stated policies regarding length (check the editorial page for this).

• Make sure your most important points are stated in the first paragraph. Editors may need to cut parts of your letter and they usually do so from the bottom up.

• Refer to a recent event in your community or to a recent article – make a connection and make it relevant.

• Use local statistics and personal stories to better illustrate your point.

• Make sure you include your title as well as your name – it adds credibility, especially if it's relevant to the topic being discussed. If you are a program director, your title may lend credibility to the letter.

Hope this still helped and wasn’t too late in answering! Sorry if you wanted a different answer.

Have a great day! Good luck and get starting!

In the conversation between Cecily, Miss Prism, and Chasuble (pg. 590-592), analyze how Wilde uses dramatic irony to reveal the
polet [3.4K]

Dramatic irony is shown when the characters behave in a very demure way, using codes that reveal their curiosity and involvement with themes that are very inappropriate for the situation.

We can arrive at this answer because:

 • Dramatic irony occurs when the reader or audience knows information that the characters in the story do not know.
 • We can see a strong example of dramatic irony in the conversation between Cecily, Miss Prism, and Chasuble.
 • That's because in this conversation, everyone is very modest, innocent, and correct as the society of the time required, but everyone is using codes and insinuations that show their interest in inappropriate matters.

In this case, the author used dramatic irony to show how these three characters are not demure and naive, as they show themselves. They pretend to be naive, not to be judged by society, but they have many inappropriate thoughts, which are kept to themselves.
