The Treaty of Versailles was the major peace treaty that brought World War I to an end. The Treaty ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. However, It aimed at imposing sanctions on the losers intead of creating an scenario with ensured peace.

The Fourteen Points were outlined by Woodrow Wilson for peace negotiations in order to end World War I.
