<em>Dura-Europos</em> was an ancient city located in the vicinity of village of <em>Salhiyé</em>, Syria, along the Euphrates river, close to the Iraq border.
Christian places needed to be discreet or secret around 240 A.D.; thus earlier congregations worshiped in private houses of wealthy members; some of those houses were converted into churches, and the house in <em>Dura-Europos</em> was one of those conversions.
So the purpose of the frescoes was to celebrate Christian worship secretly, and to illustrate the old testament writings, mostly for the illiterate people who couldn't read the sacred books, as a medium of what they called "<em>hope of new spiritual birth</em>".

We elect senators and representatives for the House. They basically make up what the people who elected them wants, but some are corrupt so they don't really listen to the people. They mainly listen to the people who fund their campaigns. What we do have are the U.S. Constitution and the U.S. Amendments to protect our rights such as forcing the person we elected to do what we want, because if they don't we can "fire" them and elect new ones. Answer: students’ rights to freely practice their religion in school.
<u>My work:</u> Student at the school was suspended because they wore arm bands for there religion; furthermore, the took it to court in which it was against the freedom of speech.
