I think that 5/3 is not equivalent to this numbers because 2/3 cannot be written in another as 5/3. It can only be written as 6/9 or 4/6. Im not entirely sure but i hope this helped.

What is the value of x in the equation 1.5(х + 4) – 3 = 4.5(х – 2)?<br>
Pavlova-9 [17]

Answer:

4

1.5(x+4) - 3 = 4.5( x-2)-----------------------open brackets on both sides

1.5 x +6 -3= 4.5x- 9.................................collect like terms

3+9 = 4.5 x- 1.5x

12=3x..................................divide by 3 both sides to get x

12/3=x

x=4

Takiya recorded the heights of two sets of plants, one set planted in the shade and one set planted in full sun. Her data are sh
marusya05 [52]

Question;

1) The shaded plants set has greater variability because more data is clustered around the median.

2) The sets are equally variable because the ranges of the data sets are equal.

3) The full sun plants set has greater variability because the IQR for full sun plants is greater.

Answer:

The correct option is;

3) The full sun plants set has greater variability because the IQR for full sun plants is greater

Step-by-step explanation:

To answer the question, we present the dot plot as follows;

Heights of Shaded plants (inches)

          0       4      3       2      0       0             1

0       1.5      2     2.5     3     3.5     4           4.5

We calculate the five numbers as follows;

Max = 4.5

Min = 2

1st quartile = (10+1)/4 th term = 2

2nd quartile (Median) = (10+1)/2 th term = 2.5

3rd quartile = 3×(10+1)/4 th term = 3

Interquatile range (IQR) = Q₃ - Q₁ = 3 - 2 = 1

Where:

Q₁ = 1st quartile

Q₃ = 3rd quartile

Heights of Full Sun plants

0     1      0      2      0       4         3

1.5   2    2.5    3     3.5     4        4.5

We calculate the five numbers as follows;

Max = 4.5

Min = 2

1st quartile = (10+1)/4 th term = 3

2nd quartile (Median) = (10+1)/2 th term = 4

3rd quartile = 3×(10+1)/4 th term = 4.5

Interquatile range (IQR) = Q₃ - Q₁ = 4.5 - 3 = 1.5

The interquartile range, IQR, is a measure of variability

Therefore, the full sun plants set has greater variability because the IQR for full sun plants is greater.
