A point source of pollution is the one in which pollution is released to the surrounding through a discrete source or from a single point of source. For example – discharge from factories, sewage treatment plant, release of gases from chimney etc.. While in a non-point source, the discharge comes from a large area rather than specific sources for example run off from a large area etc.
