Francesco Patrarch was the "Father of Humanism". He was born during the 14th Century and lived all throughout the Black Plague. He was an author and also a scholar. Many of his ideas were taken from/inspired by people like Cicero (he used many of Cicero's speeches and works and modeled his own from them). He also wrote numerous sonnets, famously ones about a woman named Laura whom he loved. In the poem he glorifies this womans beauty and intellect. It ties into humanism for many different reasons. (I actually think i went a little off the radar on him if you just need basic stuff lol! We took notes on him in class today too so that's why haha sorry! We mentioned him a a discussion on humanism so if you need me to tie it to that I will!)
