Which claim is the most effective for the argument that the minimum age to get a driver’s license should be changed to 18? Some

16-year-olds help out by driving their younger siblings to school, so changing the minimum driving age to 18 would be a problem for them. Some 16-year-olds are mature enough to drive, but changing the minimum driving age to 18 would be an overall benefit for everyone. Changing the minimum driving age to 18 would mean safer roads for everyone, since less-experienced drivers are more likely to have accidents. Changing the minimum driving age to 18 shouldn’t cause too much of a problem, because it’s only two years older than 16.

Which of the following was NOT a provision of the Coercive Acts?
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

C) The creation of colonial-controlled legislatures

Explanation:

Part of the 1774 Coercive Acts (known by the colonists as the Intolerable Acts) was the Massachusetts Government Act, which repealed the Massachusetts Bay Colony's right to elect its own legislature, in effect turning it into a royal colony. Thomas Gage was made the royal governor and instituted martial law within the colony. Also, under these acts, many of the provisions of the Quartering Act, which had been repealed earlier, were put back into place. The Administration of Justice Act allowed trials to be held in locations outside of the area where the crime took place. Furthermore, the Boston Harbor was closed until the damages caused by the Boston Tea Party were repaid.

valina [46]

Based on the cartoon and historical facts, the following are true:

 • a. Prospective Supreme Court Justices.
 • b. Attempting to increase his support in the Supreme Court.
 • c. The Constitution is in the garbage because the cartoonist believes it is being disregarded.
 • d. The main idea is that Roosevelt is going against the Constitution by trying to influence the Supreme Court.

Roosevelt and the Supreme Court

 • The Supreme Court was striking down some of Roosevelt's New Deal policies.
 • Roosevelt wanted to increase the Justices who were sympathetic to him and so wanted to pass a bill to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices.

People believed that if Roosevelt had his way, he would have stuffed the Supreme Court with people loyal to himself which would be a violation of the Constitution as it would reduce the independence of the Judiciary and go against the Separation of Powers principle.

In conclusion, people were against Roosevelt trying to influence the Supreme Court.
