Since there are no options, I'll do my best, I'd say it's class based with minor race based slavery. Though slaves were decently treated to be fair. At least in comparison to other slave holding nations.

Books were transported, along with newly devout merchants themselves, across the Eastern world. The rich lands of Arabia and Eastern Africa allowed for the Islamic nations to have a strong holding in trade.
