A democracy can be defined as a society where people influence the laws and structure of a society. In this sense the framers definitely created a democracy. Even though Congress makes the national laws, it is the people of the country who vote for the members of Congress.
Along with this the framers also did a good job of creating a democracy where individuals can express their ideas. The framers of the Constitution enabled the first amendment, which protects free speech. Even though the framers created this constitution with a democracy in mind, the US is not a perfect democracy. A true democracy would involve each individual citizen voting on laws. Each individual voting for laws directly is called a direct democracy.
I compound that student led prayers violate the first amendment because of the following reasons;The constitution guarantees freedoms of worship for everyone. In such prayers, not all students subscribe to the student faith. Those students are thus offended, and have their rights limited.
