Answer:

The correct answer would be the last one: That the monument of Colonel Shaw, like the aquarium, will one day likely be destroyed and forgotten.

Explanation:

"For the Union Dead" is a poem that was written by Robert Lowell as part of a bigger collection titled with the same name (and published in 1964), and which was first published in 1960. In this poem, what Lowell does is to reflect on the changes that are taking place in his home in Boston, due to advancements and social and technological development, but which are not necessarily the best, and are threatening a way of life that was accomplished thanks to the efforts of others in history. As such, he uses the image of Colonel Shaw, and his infantry of all-black soldiers, who went to the Civil War to fight against slavery and racial discrimination, and whose memory is preserved through a monument that is now being threatened with destruction by development, just as the old acquarium has already been destroyed. To put forth this idea, Lowell makes use in the beginning and end of the image of bursting bubbles, both regarding the fish he once watched as a child in the aquarium, and the bubble over which Colonel Shaw stood, which represented his desire to end racial discrimination and racism in general. In both instances, the bubbles burst, one because the aquarium has been torn down for improvements, and the other because racial discrimination is still rampant and the cause against it is being abandoned by people.

1.) According to Holinshed, what was Duncan like as a king?
Maru [420]
The correct answer for 1 is b. Duncan is characterized as mild-mannered and altruistic, wanting only the best for his kingdom. Unfortunately, this makes him an easy target for those who want the throne.

The correct answer for 2 is d. Macbeth is a brave and well-respected warrior. In fact, his victory on the battlefield brings him great honor. However, Macbeth demonstrates his cruelty in Holinshed's account after he ascends to the throne and rules over his kingdom.

The correct answer for 3 is c. Banquo is initially Macbeth's ally during war, and then becomes an accomplice when Macbeth plots the murder of King Duncan (this is different from Shakespeare's interpretation of Banquo, who becomes Macbeth's rival for the throne).

The correct answer for 4 is a. As discussed in Question 1, Macbeth is a brave, valiant warrior, while Duncan is a more passive king. Macbeth, then, is confident that war will stop the rebels.

The correct answer for 5 is b. Holinshed repeatedly uses the word "women," and although he describes them more as fairies or nymphs rather than witches, he never actually uses these supernatural words to define them.

6) Describe the differences between the troposphere and stratosphere.
Ulleksa [173]
The troposphere is the lowest level of the atmosphere, so it is in contact with the Earth's surface. In contrast, the stratosphere is located above the troposphere, so it is not in contact with the Earth's surface. ... The air density and air pressure are much lower in the stratosphere.
