Answer:

The peripheral nervous system includes the cranial nerves, spinal nerves, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junctions and ganglia.

Explanation:

The peripheral nervous system comprises all the nerves that branch from the brain and spinal cord to other parts of the body. It serves as a transmitter between the central nervous system (CNS) and the activity that takes place in specialized tissues. An important component of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) are the cranial nerves, which are born in the brain. Some control the muscles of the head and neck region, and others carry nerve impulses from the sensing organs, such as the eyes, to the brain. Peripheral nerves are those that are outside the brain and spinal cord. The spinal nerves, make connection with the spinal cord and are responsible for innervation of the trunk, upper extremities and parts of the head. The neuromuscular junction or neuromuscular plaque is the synapse between a motor neuron and a muscle. Finally, the ganglia are groups of nerve cells that give a measure of control over the passage of nerve impulses, connecting the brain with specific organs.

Which best describes a gamete
netineya [11]
A gamete is a haploid cell, a cell with only one pair of chromosomes. Say the skin cell of a human has 46 chromosomes (2 pairs), a gamete would have 23 chromosomes (1 pair) because gametes are sex cells. When a sex cell (Egg and sperm) come together, they together will create a dipole cell (46 chromosomes, 2 pairs).

Of the 64 possible nucleotide codon triplets, how many specify polypeptide chain termination?
Eva8 [605]

Answer:

3.

Explanation:

Translation may be defined as the process of formation of protein product from the RNA molecules with the helps of enzymes and translation factors. Translation occurs in 5' to 3' direction.

There are 64 codons that codes for the twenty amino acids. Three codons are referred as stop codons that result in the chain termination of the translation. Three stop codons are UAA, UAG and UGA.

Thus, the correct answer is option (d).

Bile salts break up the fat globule into smaller fat droplets. This role of bile salts is best described as ________.
Gemiola [76]

Answer:

Lipid emulsification.

Explanation:

Lipid emulsification generally defined as the spread of one form of liquid into second immiscible form of liquid with hydrophobic, or electrostatic, or hydrogen bonding interaction.

The above scenario is about lipid emulsification in which bile salts travels through bile duct along with chyme where these bind with their hydrophobic region to the big fat globules and then break up them into smaller fat droplets and then enter into the duodenum.
