Both the Egyptian civilization and the Olmec civilization were great developers of architecture in the ancient world. Despite of being civilizations so distant one to the other (Olmecs in North America and the Egyptians in northeast Africa), they had several points in common in their constructions. Thus, the pyramids were built as temples and monuments both in Egypt and in the Olmec territories.
