Answer: Raphael rejected Da Vinci's mystery and dusky modelling.

Explanation: Raphael emulated Leonardo's pyramidal composition and gestures like the ones he used in Madonna of the Rocks to unite the Virgin, John the Baptist, the Christ Child, and an angel but rejected his dusky modeling and mystery.

Raphael set his Madonna in a well-lit landscape and imbued her with grace, dignity and beauty. Both paintings were a few years apart and were both oil on wood paintings, although Da Vinci's Madonna of the Rocks was transferred to canvas.

Compare the goals of these progressives with the goals of Walter Rauschenbusch
otez555 [7]

Progressives are experts in such linguistic deeds. And while conservatives and even libertarians too, and unfortunately, use several trivial phrases instead of solid arguments, progressives are the undefeated champions in this regard. The best proof of this is the very progressive term they use so excessively: when they refer to a measure they support, it is progressive; when they oppose something, it is reactionary.

This simple dichotomy is an enormous pleasure for those individuals incapable of a more elaborate reasoning and who like to see their beliefs summarized in simple buzzwords, almost always partisan and rudimentary.

Walter Rauschenbusch was a theologian focused on the social responsibility of Christians, having challenged churches to get involved in topics such as industrialization, poverty, unemployment, justice and criminality. He insisted that the gospel cannot be alienated from the social consequences of faith.

Which philosopher thought that temples, sculptures and paintings reflected individual tastes of their creators and patrons?
Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

Ancient Greek Philosopher Aristotle

Explanation:

Ancient Greek Philosopher Aristotle (384 – 322 BCE) proposed interesting facts about art, dignity, humor, society, youth and misfortune.

He believed the aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.

He noted that temples, sculpture, and paintings reflected the individual tastes of their creators and patrons, an idea that opened the way for their being considered ‘works of art’ at all, rather than just religious ritual or political images.

Which of these is not related to the "powder keg of europe"?
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]
The "powder keg of Europe" refers to the conditions present in Europe prior to World War I. This analogy likens the conditions of Europe to a barrel of gun powder. Harmless if left only, incredibly dangerous if lit. The "keg" consisted of "isms" to include nationalism, industrialism, imperialism, militarism, and odd ball, the alliance system. The Scientific Revolution sparked industrial innovation creating a need for new materials and markets which lead to Europe's "scramble" for territory throughout Africa and Asia. Colonies needed to be protected thus an increase in military spending and armaments. Success in these endeavors lead to a competition spirit in European countries creating nationalism as they grew. Lastly, alliances were needed to protect new colonies and from rising militaristic threats. This "keg" only needed a spark which came with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria by a Serbian nationalist. This spark lit a fuse which is commonly considered the "blank check" issued by Germany to help Austria in any way they needed. This fuse then set off the conditions of the "keg".
