Overall Jonas's community is a very organized. The Elders make sure that everything is in order, and by doing that they had to get rid of some very important things such as feelings. The place lacks color and imagination and the people are happy with that. They don't see anything wrong with the way they live. Just like in the book Jonas asks his parents if they loved him. Taken back the parents reprimand him for choice of words and reply instead that they are proud of his accomplishments and enjoy his company. I would use the words organized, but also apathetic. When you are reading a adaptation of the original true story, there may be a couple differences including you may have a omniscient point of view.
