The Europe partitioning was centered around the secret agreement involving British and French in 1916. Subsequently, Russia also joined the alliance due to Britain and Russia agreement in the previous year.
This agreement led to the allocation of Middle East region among the three countries. A region which is much under the control of Ottoman Empire at that time. The eventual allocation led to Britain having the present day areas around Mediterranean Sea, River Jordan, Jordan, and southern Iraq all these areas are known to be majority of Southern region of the Middle East.
