Which sentence best summarizes the central conflict in Amateratsu?
sineoko [7]

Answer:

Susanowo caused so much trouble that Amaterasu retreated from the world, taking the sun with her.

Explanation:

In the Japanese myth, Amaterasu is the sun goddess according to the Shinto religion. And it is also through her that the royal family line of the Japanese emperor began.

The central conflict in the myth is when Amaterasu retreated to the caves after her mischievous brother Susanowo who threw a heaven colt to her while she was weaving which led to her pri cking her finger. In her rage, she hid in a cave never to come out. And in doing so, she left the earth devoid of any sunlight, leading to crops withering, and people dying of starvation. She had to be lured out of the cave and return to bring sunlight to the world so that people may live again.

Why does Jaggers call Wemmick the "most cunning imposter in all of London?"
OleMash [197]
Jaggers calls Wemmick the most cunning imposter in all of London because Jaggers disagrees with what Pip said that Wemmick is a kind-hearted person. Because the Wemmick that Jaggers knew is different from what Pip described him to be. The Wemmick that Jaggers knew is different. The Wemmick that he knew can often be such a calculating individual in his business dealings. That is why Jaggers jokingly referred to him as the most cunning imposter in all of London.

Read the following passage and then respond to the directions below.
charle [14.2K]

This argument illustrates the slippery slope fallacy as Leo Panchello was used to create a happy picture of how much hard work local business owners put in and then goes on to tell how the light rail would destroy the local business and ruin all of their hard work which brings a sad ending.

What is a fallacy?

This is known as a mistaken belief, a faulty or failed reasoning especially one based on unsound argument.

Hence, the fallacy makes the argument weak because there's no indication that a light rail would destroy a main local business in the town as when constructing a light rail, they do not tear up the street, instead, they make the light rail a part of the street

A slippery slope fallacy is a course of action that is rejected because there is little or no evidence that one insists to lead to a chain reaction resulting in an undesirable end.
