In which of the following cities would people have found the center of the Byzantine government in Italy

History

Oddly enough, it wasn't Rome. Nor was it Antioch or Cordoba (both of those cities aren't even in Italy).

When the Byzantine empire expanded its borders under Justinian, it reclaimed much of what used to be part of the Roman Empire throughout the Mediterranean. But when they took Italy, they made Ravenna a provincial capital - not Rome. Later, it would eventually become the capital of a Byzantine Exarchate.

What were the justifications for imperialism
larisa86 [58]
Many countries wanted to control over many economic activities in other countries as well as utilize other countries for cheap labor. In addition, some countries wanted to explore the world and conquer for their homeland while other countries thought that their own country and race was superior to all other countries and therefore believed it was needed that they invade other countries and educate them as well as some countries practicing imperialism to convert people to their religion.

Which side seemed stronger at the beginning of the Civil War?
natita [175]

The correct answer is:

North because its government had been in power longer

Explanation:

With Lincoln's election in 1861, Southern states believed they were no longer represented in the federal government, so they started to secede from the Union, forming the Confederate States of America and naming Jefferson Davis as President.

The North seemed stronger at the beginning of the Civil War (and it turned out it was) because the Union had been in power longer, and President Lincoln was the official President to the entire world, even though the South tried to win support from European countries. The federal government had power over the army and had naval power to block Southern ports and their economy.

The North also seemed stronger because of their bigger population and advanced industries.
