The Sino-Tibetan language family has over 400 languages, and is the second largest family next to the Indo-European. It's early languages were Sinitic (Chinese), Tibitec, Karnic, Bodo-Garo, Kuki-Chin, Meitei, Tamangic, Bai, Jingpho-Luish, and Lolo-Burmese, but has 400+ languages/major dialects being used modernly.
They are alike because they both have the "n" sound as the beginning. KNit and GName but have the "nnn" sound.
The difference is the same sound is spelled differently. They both make the same nnn sound, but the first two letters are different.
