The words "of course", in this statement, makes it clear that this information is redundant, since it is known for most of the people, because since an early age, everyone eat this kind of candy, and it is never served in a plate,  to be  eaten with cutlery, but it is a finger food. Children, especially, love to eat bonbons and delight with them.
