Answer: b. New weaponry and technology did not address the stalemate of trench warfare, prolonging the war and leading to the massive loss of human lives.

World War I introduced many modern warfares which include airplanes, tanks, trench warfares and other weapons. Along the western front, most of the war was fought using trench warfare. Both sides dug long lines of trenches to protect the soldiers from gunfires and the area between the trenches was called No Man's Land. Trench warfares prolonged the war which led to the loss of millions of soldiers.
