4. What is the significance of Hammurabi's Code?
Andreas93 [3]

Answer: It was the first ever written legal document! It teaches us about Mesopotamian society (like class divisions, political and economic factors) as well as it is the basis of our modern day legal code. Society wouldn't be the same if it weren't for this - it was the start of a civilized group of people!

Which phenomenon did triangular trade most directly encourage?please
Mrac [35]

The phenomenon that triangular trade most directly encouraged was slavery. The first part of the triangle was the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean by Europeans wishing to sell their products. With the money obtained the europeans would buy slaves; sometimes they would just trade the products they brought directly for slaves. The same european ships would then sail to America to sell the slaves as plantation labourers. With the money obtained the europeans bought raw products like cotton and took them to Europe for further processing. The complete cycle took like a year.

4. What do you predict are the dangers of appeasement?
gavmur [86]
Good example of appeasement being used is the Munich Conference (1938), and the Potsdam Conference (1945). Many see appeasement as surrendering to another country’s wishes, which can make a nation and its leader look weak. It’s a temporary measure taken to stop a war, but many times is unsuccessful in the long run. Leaders such as Neville Chamberlain and FDR used this strategy with Hitler and Stalin, who both took advantage of what they had been given. Appeasement can put a country in a weak position due to them losing territory, resources, etc. It’s a very diplomatic policy, but usually only curbs a threat for a short time. Hope this helped a little! :)
