Answer:

  f(x) = 6x +1

Step-by-step explanation:

Differences in x-values (first row) are 1, 1, 1.

Differences in y-values (second row) are 6, 6, 6.

The constant ratio of differences (6/1) tells you the function is linear, and has a slope of m = 6/1 = 6.

Using the first point in the form ...

  y = mx + b

we have ...

  y = 6x + b

  7 = 6·1 + b . . . . (x, y) = (1, 7)

  1 = b . . . . . . subtract 6

Then the equation can be written ...

  y = 6x +1

In functional form, this is ...

  f(x) = 6x +1

I need to find the value of X
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

17.7

Step-by-step explanation:

This figure is a pentagon - a shape with 5 sides. In a pentagon, the figure's angles add to 540.

100 + 7x-4 + 3x + 23 + 9x - 6 + 90 = 540

190 +19x + 13 = 540

203 + 19x = 540

19x = 337

x = 17.7

Use Newton’s Method to find the solution to the equation
Scorpion4ik [409]

f(x) =  - x {}^{2}  + 18 \\ f'(x) = - 2x

x_{n + 1} = x_{n} -  \frac{f(x_{n})}{f'(x_{n})}

x_{2} = 3  -  \frac{f(3)}{f'(3)}  = 4.5

x _{3}= 4.5 -  \frac{f(4.5)}{f'(4.5)}  = 4.25

x_{4} = 4.25 -  \frac{f(4.25)}{f'(4.25)}  ≈4.242647

x_{5} = 4.242647 -  \frac{f(4.242647)}{f'(4.242647)}  ≈4.242640 \\
