This was the Peloponnesian War. For a while, Athens was ruled by a small group of Spartans. But, for about 100 years, thousands of years ago, ancient Athens had a direct democracy, or a government in which all citizens vote on rules and laws.

The revolutionary war was mainly between the colonist in America and England, so if Historian A thinks that the war was caused by the Americans then it is likely that they are British. If historian B thinks that the war was caused by the British, then it is likely that they are American.
