The reserves were established after the Indian Expulsion Act of 1830, through this law the British Settlers expelled the American tribes from their lands, to keep their lands and isolate them in small territories.

Currently, these reserves are scattered throughout the United States and have their own political, cultural and social processes. However, they face various problems related to the lack of job opportunities, family disintegration, high rates of drug use, and even cultural loss.
