Biochemistry is the study of the actions of the main metabolic processes of living organisms, which are protein synthesis (DNA and RNA molecules, genetic codes and how they work, enzyme formation and function, etc), glycolysis (cellular respiration, aka the Krebs cycle/citric acid cycle to break down glucose molecules to release chemical energy and oxydative phosphorylation, the use of that chemical energy to form ATP molecules in which the chemical energy is put in a form the cell can use, and lipid chemistry (the study of the pathways in which fatty acids are formed into lipids and fat molecules and cholestrol formation and function).
Essentially, biochemistry covers the chemical reactions necessary for cellular and organism metabolism

Why are desert soils low in organic matter?
cluponka [151]
There are two main theories for the lack of organic material in desert soils. Firstly, the organic life in most deserts is so sparse that it cannot produce much organic matter. What is the best description of the geology of Mars?
Temka [501]

Answer:

Mars has mountains, valleys, and volcanoes, but the red planet's are by far the biggest and most dramatic.Recent and continuing missions to Mars are showing that the Red Planet may be more geologically active than previously thought.Olympus Mons, the solar system's largest volcano, towers some 16 miles above the Martian surface, making it three times taller than Everest.Geologists think one of the reasons volcanoes on Mars were able to grow so large is that Mars has fewer tectonic boundaries in comparison to Earth.

Hope that was helpful.Thank you!!!
