Biochemistry is the study of the actions of the main metabolic processes of living organisms, which are protein synthesis (DNA and RNA molecules, genetic codes and how they work, enzyme formation and function, etc), glycolysis (cellular respiration, aka the Krebs cycle/citric acid cycle to break down glucose molecules to release chemical energy and oxydative phosphorylation, the use of that chemical energy to form ATP molecules in which the chemical energy is put in a form the cell can use, and lipid chemistry (the study of the pathways in which fatty acids are formed into lipids and fat molecules and cholestrol formation and function).
Essentially, biochemistry covers the chemical reactions necessary for cellular and organism metabolism

What does the formula for table salt indicate about that compound?
Ad libitum [116K]

It indicates what elements is composed by and how many atoms of one element are linked to the other.

For example, this is the formula for table salt is:

NaCl

The formula indicates that table salt (sodium chloride) is composed by sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl) on a 1:1 ratio.

Hope it helped,

IWhat is the momentum as a 0.05 kg bullet traveling 500 m/s?
KiRa [710]

Answer: 25 kg m/s

Identify the given information.

<em>m</em> = 0.05 kg

<em>v</em> = 500 m/s

Choose which formula you should use. In this case, you are finding momentum.

<em>p</em> = <em>mv</em>, where <em>p</em> is momentum, <em>m</em> is the mass, and <em>v</em> is velocity.

Substitute and solve.

<em>p</em> = (0.05 kg)(500 m/s)

<em>p</em> = 25 kg m/s

A student has isolated a large compound (macromolecule) from cells. Chemical analysis of the compound shows that it is made up o
Kruka [31]

Answer:

To which group of macromolecules does this compound most likely belong? B) Protein

Explanation:

If the chemichal analysis of the compound showed carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and phosphorus, we would we talking about nucleic acid. Lipids would not be a possibility because they are made of hydrocarbons. When it comes to carbohydrates, they are made of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Protein is the right answer because they are made of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur.
