Hello!

I'm assuming you're looking for 1.848484.

The first thing we want to do is get rid of the repeating part. The way we can do this is subtract the number we are given from itself multiplied by a power of 10. So, set 1.8484... = x. And based off of that, find 100x. This is because the next time the decimal repeating will become .8484 again is after two numbers pass.

1.848484... = x

184.8484... = 100x

Next, subtract x from 100x. This will get rid of the repeating decimal.

100x - x = 184.8484... - 1.8484

99x = 183

Finally, divide both sides by 99. This leaves us with a fraction.

99x = 183

x = 183 / 99

Simplify this fraction.

183 / 99 -> 61 / 33

Finally, turn it into a mixed number, as this is the form your question is looking for.

61/33 -> 1 28/33

Hope this helps!

A sale person's daily earnings include $115 per day plus commission equal to x percent (in decimal form) of his daily sales. a.
horsena [70]

Answer:

a. 115+1,565x=240.20

b.  8\%

Step-by-step explanation:

a. According to the information given in the exercise, you know that the sale person's daily earnings is the sum of $115 plus a commission of his daily sales.

Therefore, if his daily sales are $1,565, then his comission is given by:

1,565x

Knowing that  his total earnings for that day are $240.20, you can write the following equation which can be used to find "x":

115+1,565x=240.20

b. In order to find the commision percent (in decimal form) of the sale person's daily sales, you must solve for "x":

115+1,565x=240.20\\\\1,565x=240.20-115\\\\x=\frac{125.2}{1,565}\\\\x=0.08

Multiplying it by 100, you get it in percent form:

=0.08*100=8\%

In Texas, state law requires that for regular classroom settings in elementary grades K-4, the student-to-teacher ratio can be n
Ivenika [448]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A hypothesis test is performed to determine if the proportion of schools needing such a waiver is above 25%

At the null hypothesis, we test that the proportion is of 25%, that is:

H_0: p = 0.25

At the alternate hypothesis, we test that the proportion is above 25%, that is:

H_a: p > 0.25

The test statistic is:

z = \frac{X - \mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}

In which X is the sample mean, \mu is the value tested at the null hypothesis, \sigma is the standard deviation and n is the size of the sample.

0.25 is tested at the null hypothesis:

This means that \mu = 0.25, \sigma = \sqrt{0.25*0.75}

Sample of 85 schools, 32 need a waiver:

This means that n = 85, p = \frac{32}{85} = 0.3765

Value of the test statistic:

z = \frac{X - \mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}

z = \frac{0.3765 - 0.25}{\frac{\sqrt{0.25*0.75}}{\sqrt{85}}}

z = 2.69

P-value of the test and decision:

The p-value of the test is the probability of finding a sample proportion above 0.3765, which is 1 subtracted by the p-value of z = 2.69.

Looking at the z-table, z = 2.69 has a p-value of 0.9964

1 - 0.9964 = 0.0036

The p-value of the test is 0.0036 < 0.05, thus we reject the null hypothesis that the proportion is 25%, and accept the alternate hypothesis that the proportion of schools needing such a waiver is above 25%.
