To be a human rights defender, a person can act to address any human right (or rights) on behalf of individuals or groups. Human rights defenders seek the promotion and protection of civil and political rights as well as the promotion, protection and realization of economic, social and cultural rights.

Human rights defenders address any human rights concerns, which can be as varied as, for example, summary executions, torture, arbitrary arrest and detention, female genital mutilation, discrimination, employment issues, forced evictions, access to health care, and toxic waste and its impact on the environment. Defenders are active in support of human rights as diverse as the rights to life, to food and water, to the highest attainable standard of health, to adequate housing, to a name and a nationality, to education, to freedom of movement and to non-discrimination. They sometimes address the rights of categories of persons, for example women’s rights, children’s rights, the rights of indigenous persons, the rights of refugees and internally displaced persons, and the rights of national, linguistic or sexual minorities.

What was Thomas Jefferson's true stance on slavery and African Americans?
3241004551 [841]

Answer:

In 1784, he proposed an ordinance that would ban slavery in the Northwest territories.7 But Jefferson always maintained that the decision to emancipate slaves would have to be part of a democratic process; abolition would be stymied until slaveowners consented to free their human property together in a large-scale act of emancipation. To Jefferson, it was anti-democratic and contrary to the principles of the American Revolution for the federal government to enact abolition or for only a few planters to free their slaves.

As pertaining to the Constitution, how has this pandemic impacted:
Setler79 [48]

Unclear question. However, I inferred you are referring to the ongoing pandemic.

Explanation:

Remember, federalism system of governance allows the sharing of powers between different levels of government (state, local or county and the federal government).

However, certain decisions are left for the higher arm of government, which was seen in Texas when local officials (county commissioners) modified the Commissioner's Court Executive Orders on restrictions with the aim of making it in line with the higher level (State government) orders.

What does this map show about Germany’s geographic position
melomori [17]
It shows that Germany was in a really bad strategic position since it could be attacked from all sides, which did happen in the end. When the Allies managed to liberate Europe, they focused on attacking Germany from all sides and eventually they completely destroyed them, especially the Soviet army which managed to get into Berlin first.
