Giles Corey was pressed with large stones to death and the last words he said was "More Weight"

Rebecca is a wise and sensible woman she falls victim when the Putnams accuse her of witchcraft she refuses to confess because she was an upright woman. However John Proctor who was also an innocent but when facing death he decided to confess on what he never did.

John Proctor confesses to save his own life but refuses to save others life because he was facing an ethical dilemma of telling the truth and die or lie and live.

Proctor retract the confession because the officials want him to sign his name on the confession.
