One example can be the tattoo culture, where the sailors that went to Asia found the tattoo culture in there, today knew as traditional Japanese, and they brought that with them to the US, where in the Japanese culture the imagery used was things like dragons or handy as, in the one that the sailors brought with them the imagery was other more related to them, like ships, anchors or pinup girls, and the stile was clearly spired in the one seen in Japan. This new still knew as old school was called "traditional Americana".

That is one example of the US culture meeting other cultures, in this case, an Asian/Japanese one.
