How did the world react to state government legislation during the gilded age

History

During the Gilded Age, 1876-1900, Congress was known for being rowdy and inefficient. It was not unusual to find that a quorum could not be achieved because too many members were drunk or otherwise preoccupied with extra-governmental affairs. The halls of Congress were filled with tobacco smoke, and spittoons were everywhere. One disgusted observer noted that not only did the members chew and spit incessantly, but their aim was bad. The atmosphere on the floor was described as an “infernal din.” The Senate, whose seats were often auctioned off to the highest bidder, was known as a “rich man's club,” where political favors were traded like horses, and the needs of the people in the working classes lay beyond the vision of those exalted legislators. The Senate dominated the federal government during the Gilded Age. Causing the world to react as if America wasn't under good control.

In other words, the world reacted as America wasn't mature.

Select all of the factors that motivated African-Americans to relocate to northern cities during the great migration.
Karolina [17]

Answer:

Institutionalization of Jim Crowe laws and increased availability of manufacturing jobs.

Explanation:

After the return to power of white democratic leaders in the South during late XIX century, local government encated laws to limit the political participation of African-Americans and also to segregate them. At the same time, Northern and Western states opened a number of job positions, specially in the steelmaker industry, where this population saw a new opportunity to leave behind discrimination in the South.

From 1 John, we learn that fellowship with God is in:
goldenfox [79]
<span>Love, Life and Light.
John was "the disciple whom Jesus loved" -- as described in the Bible. We might say he and Jesus were best friends. John's letters to the church--1, 2 and 3 John--are full of expressions of how God brings us life and light through his love. Some pertinent passages from 1 John would be examples like these:<em> "We proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us"</em> (1 Jn 1:2). <em>"If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another"</em> (1 Jn 1:7). "<em>Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God" </em>(1 Jn 4:7).</span>

Mrac [35]
