Answer:

D. Childish arrogance and overconfidence can lead to trouble or death.

Explanation:

The myth of Daedalus and his son Icarus is one of the most known Greek myths. It tells the story of how, in order to escape from Crete, Daedalus made wings from feathers and wax for himself and Icarus, telling him not to get close to the water and sun. But Icarus didn't follow his father's instructions and got too close to the sun. The heat melted the wax in his wings, and he fell into the sea and drowned. That's the origin of the idiom Don't fly too close to the sun, meaning Don't be reckless.

The myth shows us that the consequences of arrogance and overconfidence can be as severe as death. Young, inexperienced Icarus ignored his father's wise words, dared to get too close to the sun and had to face the consequences.

Letter D is the correct answer.

"The Story of Daedalus and Icarus", written by Ovid's, mentions the story of these two people. Daedalus is a very famous architect, as Icarus is his son. Due to this, King Minos wanted a labyrinth to put there the Minotaur. Relationships between Daedalus and King Minos are good but they deteriorate as time passes. King Minos leaves Daedalus and Icarus in the labyrinth and after several trials, the father plans to scape by using some wings he will create with branches of osier and wax. He warns Icarus not to fly to high due to the fragility of the materials but when they start flying, Icarus does it anyways and does not listen ti his father's warns. At the end, he falls and dies due to his arrogance.

Describe a plan in your life
Olenka [21]

Answer:

Describe a plan in your life

You should say:

What it is about?

Why you made this plan?

What you need to do first?

And explain how you would feel if it is successful?

Note: You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes. You have one minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.

Model Answers and follow up questions to describe a plan in your life:

Introduction:

Well, people always have some plans related to their work or study. I always keep on attending some short courses along with my regular studies to acquire new skills. For example, I have take classes of driving, music as well as French some time ago.

What it is about?

But now I am planning to take cooking classes that I think I would need in near future. There are quite a few reasons why I want to opt for this course.

Why you made this plan?

The fact is that I am planning to move to Canada for my higher study very soon. Obviously, there would be no one to cook for me. For that reason, I really need to learn how to cook food so that I can survive in that new country. This way, I would be able to save myself from eating outside food all the time.As many of my friends are already in Canada and do not know how to cook food, they have to buy outside food which is certainly not only unhealthy but very expensive also. In addition, along with my study, I will be doing there some kind of part-time job as. So, if I know how to cook food I can easily find a job in a restaurant.

What you need to do first?

Well, soon I will be having holidays and during this time I am going to take the help of my mother in learning this skill. She is a wonderful cook and can cook almost anything so learning this skill from her would also allow me to spend some extra time with her. Apart from this, there is an institute in my city that offer short cookery courses. Hence, I am planning to join this institute as well.

And explain how you would feel if it is successful?

So that I can learn most of the Punjabi cuisine along with some international ones. I am pretty sure I will enjoy taking cooking classes and I will learn it very quickly since I have a deep interest in cooking.

Conclusion:

Overall cooking is one skill that I am planning to learn in near future

hope it helps ya
