Why do all the planets orbit around the sun

Because the sun is the closest star of the greatest mass to the 8 planets, thus causing it to have the greatest gravitational pull. This strong gravitational pull is what pulls the planets into their orbits. They stay within their orbits, as there is no other force in the galaxy that can stop them.
