The correct answer is A) They would cross over to the Union lines.

Blacks would react after Union victories in the South in that they would cross over to the Union lines.

After many years of brutal slavery conditions in the southern plantations, many blacks would be wishing a prompt war resolution that favored the Union Army. The Union states were anti-abolitionist states that wanted to end slavery. The Confederate states depended so much on slavery to grow crops, did not have any industry as the northern states had, and were segregationists. That is why African Americans wanted the end of slavery and search for new life opportunities in the northern states.

Name and explain two of the reasons the congressional committee identified for the recent financial crisis?
blagie [28]
The 2008 recession/financial crises one of the worst of its kind in a generation. Major economies including the United States and the UK suffered a period of recession, consistent low-growth, rising unemployment and many businesses closing down.

A 10-member committee called the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission was setup by the US government to study the causes of the recession, in the hopes that a future similar crisis could be prevented.

In 2011, the committee released their findings and pointed out the two major reasons for the crisis:

1. The basic reason for the crises as the Collapse of the housing market.

2. Which in turn was fueled by toxic mortgages, low-interest and easy credit available to everyone and minimal regulation.

The report also pointed out vast problems of corporate governance, lack of government will and unpreparedness.

How did the heritage foundation become more than just another Washington “think tank”
liberstina [14]
The result, called Mandate for Leadership, epitomized the intellectual ambition of the then-rising conservative movement. Its 20 volumes, totaling more than 3,000 pages, included such proposals as income-tax cuts, inner-city “enterprise zones,” a presidential line-item veto, and a new Air Force bomber.

Despite the publication's academic prose and mind-boggling level of detail, it caused a sensation. A condensed version -- still more than 1,000 pages -- became a paperback bestseller in Washington. The newly elected Ronald Reagan passed out copies at his first Cabinet meeting, and it quickly became his administration’s blueprint. By the end of Reagan’s first year in office, 60 percent of the Mandate’s 2,000 ideas were being implemented, and the Republican Party’s status as a hotbed of intellectual energy was ratified. It was a Democrat, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who would declare in 1981, “Of a sudden, the GOP has become a party of ideas.”
