They both have similar meanings.
Credit means you could say a source of proud or reward of something.
Credence somehow means the same like the likelihood of something to be true.
Well I can answer your sacrifice question but not the others XD. but any way sacrifice is considered a honor because say your sacrificing for your mom you love her so much that you would die for her so that is an honor.
honor means you take pride.so even if you die for anyone that is a honor. I hope I explained it right.

It would be a waste of all the time and effort put into it, if you cancel prom.
